Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism (MBRIT) is pleased to announce that two local tourism businesses have been recognised at the 2022 Queensland Tourism Awards.
Hosted at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, more than 1000 tourism operators and individuals from around the state came together for the awards gala, which covered 30 categories ranging from tour and transport through to attractions, restaurants, accommodation, events, culture, marketing and more.
Maiala Park Lodge at Mount Glorious won the Judges Choice Award, while Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism’s (MBRIT) Volunteer Team took out the Silver Award in the Outstanding Contribution by a Volunteer or Volunteer Group category.
It’s the second award for MBRIT volunteers this year, with the Redcliffe Jetty Visitor Information Centre named as Queensland’s Visitor Information Centre of the Year at the Queensland Information Centre Association Awards held in October - in the Local Goverment Category.
Delivered by the Queensland Tourism Industry Council, the awards are an opportunity to publicly acknowledge and showcase Queensland's tourism operator excellence and recognise the strength, resilience and achievements of the state's tourism industry - especially meaningful in recent challenging times.
Congratulations again to Maiala Park Lodge owners Joaben and Lucy Thompson, and to all our volunteers who ensure visitors have the best possible experience in Moreton Bay Region.
